Making holiday mocktails is one of the pleasures of my life that I really didn’t anticipate. I have never been the best baker or cake decorator, nor do I have the tools/skills to become one, but I love the idea of having a wow factor at a party. That’s why mocktails are so wonderful – they have a very lower barrier of entry and can still wow a crowd! Plus, mocktails are hard to mess up, and you can add simple touches to them that make them so much fun to drink and a real crowd pleaser.

Having a fun mocktail at a dinner party with a fancy straw and pretty garnish can really elevate the menu, and no one has to know how simple they are to achieve! Here are a few of our favorite tried and true mocktails that will bring some delicious merriment to your holiday soiree:

1. “Berry” Christmas Sparkling Mocktail

This mocktail combines a lot of delicious flavors of the season, but my favorite part is the sugared cranberry garnish! Just wet some berries, roll them in sugar, let them dry, and the result will be sparkly berries that look like they were just picked from a magical winter wonderland.

2. Fizzy Cider Sparkling Mocktail

The flavors are the real star of this festive mocktail. The combination of apple cider, cranberry juice and lime might seem like a wild at first, but once mixed they are like drinking Christmas magic!

3. Sparkling Wassail Mocktail

There is nothing like the scent of wassail bubbling on the stove at Christmastime, and giving that holiday staple a bubbly, refreshing twist makes it perfect for a party.

4. Holiday Mojito Mocktail with Cranberry and Pomegranate

Don’t tell the others, but this one might be my favorite. Not only is the pairing of the beverage and garnish the perfect Christmas green and red, cranberry and lime with a touch of mint is the most delicious combination.

5. Tropical Medley Mocktail

Maybe you celebrate Christmas somewhere warmer (or want to pretend you do!) and you want to steer away from the typical cinnamon-centric fare? This tropical medley mocktail is perfect! Not only is it gorgeous to look at, it has a burst of tropical flavors that will make your holiday party feel like you are on a beach somewhere.

6. Mojito Mocktail with Mango and Ginger

This lovely mocktail is another twist on the classic mojito with the addition of mango and ginger! It is so refreshing and full of beautiful flavor!

7 Holiday Mocktails to Try this Year + a tutorial featured by Top US Craft Blog + The Pretty Life Girls: + Sparkling Pineapple Mojito Mocktail

7. Sparkling Pineapple Mojito Mocktail

Ok, fine…maybe we have a tiny mojito obsession around here! This one adds a splash of pineapple, and you could add a bit of an extra holiday twist to it by simmering the pineapple with some cinnamon before adding it to the glass! So delicious.

As much as I’d love to fancy myself a pro baker and cake decorator, those talents escape me no matter how much I desire them. I am fully obsessed with watching cake decorating videos on Instagram and while my heart is in it, when I get icing in my hands every cupcake I touch resembles the way my 6 year old also would have decorated said cupcake. However, at Halloween time I have one decorative treat in my arsenal that always turns out, looks decorative and is beyond cute, and that recipe is these Halloween dipped wafer cookies.

These cookies are made with colored melting chocolate and wafer cookies but really it’s the sprinkles that do all the work. Every year there are more and more fun Halloween sprinkles to make your cookies stand out, and you have to throw in some candy eyes in there for a touch of spookiness! This is an extremely kid-friendly recipe and your little ones will love decorating their cookies in their own way, making creatures and then biting their heads off. (That part I know from experience.)

Here’s how you make them:

Spooky Dipped Wafer Cookies

Instructions

Colored Chocolate Melts
Wafer Cookies
Halloween Sprinkles
Wax Paper

Directions

1. On a 9×13 pan or other flat surface, spread out wax paper. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate melts according to package directions. For me, this meant melting and stirring in 30 second increments in the microwave.

2. Once the chocolate is melted, dip the ends of the wafer cookies into the chocolate. Place on wax paper and immediately top with sprinkles.

3. Once all wafers are dipped in chocolate and sprinkles, place pan in fridge to help set, or leave out on counter until completely set.

Plus, with all of the different varieties of sprinkles and colors of melting chocolate the possibilities for the cookies you create are endless! (Check out our purple, brown and orange version here.) We love the idea of making these for your Halloween gatherings, or packaging them up to give as spooky and delicious gifts!
