On Friday we finished the last in a series of online holiday craft classes for Michaels.com and this time we taught how to make some adorable pom pom stockings with no sewing machine required. That’s right! Instead of sewing, we harnessed the power of Aleene’s Fabric Fusion Glue to make these cuties and had a blast doing it! And, luckily for you it was recorded so you can make your own, too!
If you aren’t familiar with Aleene’s Fabric Fusion Glue, it really opens up the possibilities for making, especially for the different textiles you can incorporate into your projects! Plus, it is washable and ton-toxic, so you can have total confidence as you craft. This magic glue will bind your stockings together, and attach your pom poms to the exterior, making this project a breeze to put together! We add a simple bit of embroidery around the edges to give the stockings a fun graphic detail as well as a pom tassel to take it to the next level!

How to make Pom Pom Stockings
Watch the video or read the steps below.
Step 2: Apply fabric glue around the outside edges of one of the stocking pieces (not at the top though). Place the other piece on top and press down on the edges. Let dry.
Step 3: Use embroidery floss to blanket stitch around the edge of the stocking. Note: You will stitch the felt pieces separately along the top so that it will open.
Step 4: Cut a strip of felt about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long. Glue it into a loop and attach it to the inside of the stocking.
Step 5: Make or buy pom poms (a fork make the perfect sized pom poms for this project), then arrange them on the stocking. Use fabric glue to adhere the pom poms to the fabric.
Step 6: Make pom poms and tassels and string them together. Then tie them on the hanging loop.
Happy making!
